LEED FOR CITIES - SAVONA

LEED for Cities is based on 14 indicators divided between areas such as Energy, Water, Waste, Transport and Human Experience (social aspects). For these indicators, LEED for Cities requires that the vision and approach of the city be defined with respect to the achievement of pre-established objectives, and following, the collection of real data for at least 12 consecutive months to establish the level of these indicators, so to define a complete picture of the city's behavior, highlighting potentialities and weaknesses.

Three cities that have successfully completed the certification process are Washington DC, Atlanta and San Diego in the United States, while Seoul (South Korea), Doha (Qatar) and thirty other centers have started this process.

The following videos help you better understand the system:

Savona is the first city in Europe that has chosen to apply this standard to the city scale, obtaining the level of GOLD certification and obtaining a strong media response and generating the attention of international investors who recognize in LEED an instrument able to certify the environmental and social performance of a context

Furthermore, the application of LEED for Cities supports the pursuit of the Covenant of Mayors (PAESC).
